Oluwafemi Osho

Oluwafemi is a Yoruba word for God Loves Me (Indeed, He does!). I am a Ph.D. Human-Centered Computing student at Clemson University, SC, advised by Dr. Bart Knijnenburg. Formerly, I was a lecturer of cyber security science at the Federal University of Technology, Minna. Before I became a faculty member, I headed the IT department at one of Nigeria's foremost primary mortgage institutions.

As a member of HATLAB at the School of Computing, Clemson University, I am currently part of two NSF-funded research projects on (i.) characterizing inclusive strategies that retain black students in computer science to graduation and beyond and (ii.) AI-related Cybersecurity Education. Generally, my research focuses on understanding how users experience, exploit, and are affected by technology, particularly in the contexts of security, privacy, and offline wellbeing. One of the goals is to enable users to manage their relationships with technologies more effectively.

I have a master’s degree in Technical Communication from Missouri University of Science and Technology, a master’s degree in Mathematics, and a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics/Computer Science, both from the Federal University of Technology, Minna. In addition, I am a certified ethical hacker (CEH).

I am married to an adorable wife who is also a Ph.D. student at Clemson University, and we are blessed with four wonderful kids.
